Privacy policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

pipo.pet helps lost pets get back home. For that, part of what you add has to be public: a lost pet turns up when many people see its photo. This policy explains what data we keep, what is shown, who it is shared with and how you can delete it.

Terms of service

1.Who is responsible

pipo.pet is an independent project from Paraguay, run by Ricardo Parra. For any question about your data, write to [email protected].

2.What data we keep

  • Your account: the email you sign in with (no password), your first and last name, username, phone, profile photo, an optional bio and your language.
  • Your pets: name, nicknames, type, breed, sex, size, colours, date of birth, behaviour, illnesses, medication, photos and videos.
  • Reports and sightings: the place (coordinates, city and neighbourhood), the date, the description and the photos or videos you upload. If you allow access to your location, we use it only to mark the place on the map.
  • Conversations with Pipo AI: your messages and the replies, saved in your account.
  • Technical data: the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your language and theme, and error reports (see "Who we share it with").

3.What is public

A report being seen is what brings a pet back. That is why:

  • Open reports and reunions are public, also to people without an account, and may appear in search engines: the pet’s details and photos, the report text and the place and date of each sighting.
  • Each pet’s public profile, where the flyer’s QR code leads, shows only the animal’s details, never yours.
  • Your name, username and phone as the owner are shown only to signed-in people viewing your open report. When you add a sighting, that pet’s owner can see your name and phone to contact you.
  • The flyer you generate to print or share includes the photo, the pet’s details and your phone.
  • If you leave sharing on pipo.pet’s social accounts turned on (it is on by default), we post that flyer on our Facebook and Instagram accounts, also when the pet gets back home. You can turn it off on each report.
  • Your email is never shown.

4.What we use your data for

  • Showing and spreading reports so the pet gets back home.
  • Emailing you when someone adds a sighting or there is news on your report.
  • Letting Pipo AI search reports and vets to answer you.
  • Keeping the service running and secure, preventing abuse and fixing errors.

We do not sell your data, show ads or build advertising profiles.

5.Who we share it with

We use providers that process data only to provide their service to us:

  • Supabase: database, files and sign-in.
  • Railway: the servers the app runs on.
  • Resend: sending emails.
  • OpenAI: generates Pipo AI’s replies from your messages and the public reports it finds.
  • Google Maps: maps and the search for addresses and vets.
  • Meta: posting flyers on Facebook and Instagram, when turned on.
  • Sentry: error reports and session recordings with text and images hidden, to understand failures.

These services may store data outside Paraguay, for example in the United States. We would only hand data to an authority if the law requires us to.

6.How long we keep it

For as long as you have your account. Resolved reports stay visible as success stories unless you delete them.

If you delete your account, we remove your data, your pets, reports, sightings and conversations. Backups and error logs roll over on their own within a few weeks. Posts already made on Facebook and Instagram are removed if you ask us.

7.Your rights

  • See and correct your data from your profile and from each pet.
  • Delete pets, reports and sightings whenever you want.
  • Stop sharing a report on social media with the report’s switch.
  • Ask for a copy of your data or for your account to be deleted by writing to [email protected]. We reply within 30 days at most.

8.Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwordless sign-in with a link to your email and database rules that limit who can read or change each piece of data. No system is perfect: if we detect an incident affecting your data, we will let you know.

9.Children

pipo.pet is not meant for children under 13. If you are a minor, use it with your parents’ or guardians’ permission.

10.Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date above and, if the change is significant, we let you know by email or in the app.
